The rules for four more "mini-contests" have been finalized...

Custom Fig Contest
Miniland Contest
Cube Dudes
Life of George
All the links for these contests are on the "Contest" page...
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/Contest

These mini-contests are super fun and super easy. They are designed to only take a few minutes or so to build, (although some could potentially take much longer depending on how involved you are going to get.)

These are perfect things to enter if you have to travel by plane, or have a small collection, or are short on time, or just want something fun to do.

Please note, that all the mini contest entries should not be put on our registered MOC pages!

This rule is entirely opposite for our big contests, which all should be registered, such at Mindstorms, IR/RC and our...
Theme Contest - Heroes

As well, PLEASE NOTE, one of our already existing contest (Pimp my Moose) and Custom Fig allow for all third party customs and complete modification. All other contest to date, do not.

PIT OF DESPAIR

Is a whole new contest with 3 different levels to play... its perfect for the set builder, RC Techball builder, right up to the Robot builder.

http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/PoD

With the different levels of play, there is no reason you cant enter!

Each building building level will be treated as its own game, which means 3 first place winners!!! Which of course means.... three ways to WIN LEGO!!!

In case you were wondering what the Pit of Despair arena looks like... http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/PoD

We are conserving bricks here (for the environment!) so yes, Virginia it does look remarkably like the Techball Arena... with the patented "Pass the POD doors, Hal" TM addition (trust me, you are going to have to hear that joke a few more million times), plus now its got BALLS! (insert your own jokes here).

I have the arena set up, because my KIDSClub build class it about to attempt the "Pit of Despair". Wish them luck!

Hmmm "NO COMMENT" to Chris' above statement... however, apparently I need a proof reader... "...build class it..." should read "build class is"

For the record, the kids did play this game at our last class using the most recent power functions digger, and some of them were frustrated and others had a blast. We used a modified version of the scoring rules.

While this game looks deceptively simple, you do really need a bit of practise with the RC before throwing yourself into this game.

Is it too early to submit a theme idea for Brickfete 2013? If not I'd like to suggest "When Monsters ATTACK!" for the next theme. Let's get Godzilla into the town display! Zombies in the streets.. the horror.. the horror.

LOL, that sounds fun... but yeah, its a bit early for anything yet... I need about 30 sleeps, a number of trips to Tim Hortons, and some beautiful fairy to come visit and unpack the two complete van loads at my house that is dumped into my garage right now, before I think about 2013.
